Harry Frank Koester, Jr. CPA
Born in the Dow Hospital in Velasco Texas (now Freeport) on August 24, 1950, Harry graduated from Brazosport High School in 1968 and attended the first class ever held at Brazosport College (then Brazosport Junior College) in the fall of 1968. He earned an Associate of Arts degree in 1971 and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Houston in 1972.
He is a licensed Texas CPA since 1976 and has practiced as a professional accountant since 1973, working in both public and corporate accounting. He founded his independent CPA practice in 1983 and will celebrate the firm’s 25th anniversary in January, 2008. Harry is a member of the Texas Society of CPA’s as well as the American Institute of CPA’s.
Mr. Koester is very active in community associations and was recognized by his original alma mater with the first distinguished alumnus award from Brazosport College. He is currently Treasurer and Board member for the Brazosport Health Foundation, a member of Brazosport Rotary Club (former officer and director), an advisory council member Brazosport College Small Business Development Center, and was recently elected to serve on the Brazosport College Board of Regents.
Past involvements in the community include: Board member Lake Jackson Economic Development Corporation, Board member & Officer Brazosport Center Stages, Board member & Officer Brazosport Chamber of Commerce, Board member & Officer Community Foundation of Brazoria County, Texas, and Advisory Council member of Brazosport College Foundation.
